"Chicken is clearly one of the premier gold prospecting places left in Alaska. There IS gold in them there hills and you can and will find it if you come to Chicken. That's
what we decided we needed to do - take our last best shot at finding our first ever nugget at the place where we figured we would be most likely to do just that, before heading
out of Alaska to end our first visit to a truly great and amazing state. We pulled in to the Original Chicken Gold Camp upon arrival.
We had expected the isolated road to Chicken. We had expected and prepared for a bare necessities kind of week while in pursuit of the nugget. So imagine our pleasant
surprise to find one of the most well laid out (sorry, chickens, no pun intended), attractive, well run camping and activity operations we have come across anywhere in the
state. The water is priceless; the power is limited, etc. but in compensation for that, the staff is knowledgeable, openly friendly and helpful. The place is whistle clean,
the firewood is available for the taking (none of this 5 bucks for 5 sticks like many other campgrounds have). Access to everything you need is easy. The gift shop is superb.
The kitchen cafe is offering daily gourmet treats that bring Chicken up to the level of sophisticated dining that you can enjoy in coveralls and a flannel shirt at the end of
a day at the mine. Want to see the wine list???"

Several years ago, in my role as motorcoach driver/guide for Yukon-Alaska tours, I walked over to see Mike's new operation at Chicken, Alaska during my regular lunch stop
in the community. I was very impressed by the quality, cleanliness and friendliness and on my next tour, stopped there with my group of about 30 people. My guests were all
extremely pleased with the facilities, the food and the general atmosphere, and The Chicken Gold Camp & Outpost became my regular stop. In my dozens of visits over the years
with hundreds of people, often dropping by with short notice, Mike and Lou and their staff have never failed to maintain the high standards that I saw on that first visit.
Always changing, the property keeps getting better and better - the addition of a large deck and the final positioning of the gold dredge in particular have been huge for my
guests. I highly recommend Chicken Gold Camp for independent RVers, caravan operators and tour operators - this is "the real Alaska"!

"Chicken Gold Camp and Outpost is a family owned campground run by the Busby Family. A warm and friendly group eager to help in any matter, whether it be repairs,
gold mining, or advice on travels. We had a fantastic stay at the Chicken Gold Camp and thoroughly enjoyed our cabin and the food. Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality...we'll be back."

"My wife, myself and a couple from Wisconsin spent the first two weeks of August at The Chicken Gold Camp and are glad we did. Everyone is so nice there and the food is
wonderful as well. We saw numerous people that had found a goodly amount of gold on Mike's claim. There were also some guys that were doing pretty good by just working the
dirt piles at the Camp. I would recommend the Chicken Gold Camp to everyone. It is such a wonderful place and the cabins are great with very comfortable beds. Thanks Lou and
"My wife and I just returned for our annual summer Alaska trip. We decided to spend a week at Chicken Gold Camp. We couldn't of been more pleased with our decision. Mike, his lovely wife, and staff were terrific hosts. They assisted us in every manner and we found gold. We intend on going back next year (if they will have us!). We would recommend them to anyone."
"Thanks so much for the gracious hospitality, great facility and much needed espresso beverages. The food was not only a great value for the price but delicious. We will definitely make the "Chicken Gold Camp and Outpost" our place for a wonderful restful vacation spot. We'll see you next summer."

"The Chicken Gold Camp is the best campground I have stayed at in 21,000 km (from Newfoundland to Alaska). Nice folks, great
gold panning and excellent beer!"My last report was from Chicken just over the border into Alaska. I stayed there an extra night
as it was a RV/CAMPSITE and a good one that i liked, nothing there but a few people panning for gold, with lots of gold mining
equipment and one of the biggest old gold dredgers in the world."
